Our Network
The Norfone network is a 4g Voice Over LTE network. It was built using state-of-the-art Nokia equipment and designed to survive even the most extreme weather conditions, ensuring that our network is reliable when needed most. The Core of the Norfone network was developed by Omnitouch Network Services, as well as our CRM.
With funding support from the Australian Government's Regional Connectivity Program, we developed Norfone's high-speed, low-latency Home & Mobile Internet service. This new backhaul service reduces latency from 600ms to below 100ms and is a key element of the Norfone Network

The Norfone team is comprised mostly of passionate network nerds. For us, the challenges of designing, building and operating networks (particularly in challenging or remote locations) are what we love. With decades of collective experience, we bring enthusiasm and innovation to everything we do - our Norfone network is no exception to that.
We are also lucky enough to have the ongoing dedication of our local team, who manage Norfone’s day-to-day customer service and support roles. They are the friendly faces you’ll see at 3B Taylors Road and around the island, helping to facilitate connectivity on Norfolk Island’s special events.
Our goals
Our mission for the people of Norfolk Island is simple: to provide quality network services without the hefty price tag. We care about reliable and accessible connectivity and have built the Norfone network to offer the community exactly that.
We have also listened to what you’ve asked for, and are proud to bring Australian numbers to the Island for the first time. On the Norfone network, customers will now be able to roam abroad with their Norfone SIM, offering better connectivity than ever before.
